色が見たい、色が見たい。白い色。雪の色。長い長い、冬の色。感情が埋もれる冬に、僕たちは慣れている。歓びも憎しみも、哀しみも楽しみも。“白い色”にかき消され、その“白い色”から生まれ変わる。特に雪国のそれは、それは。色に触れ、誕生し、色に染まる。僕たちを感情の中に引き込み、放出する。―だから色が見たい、色が見たいんだ。

雪国の遣り方。
軒下にできる氷は、水の複雑な経路からできるため、
虹色のスペクトルも、造形美も息を潜める。
―お世辞でも“綺麗”とは云えない。
氷点下の世界に暮らすことは綺麗事ばかりではない。
不意に心配を煽ったり、耐えることを強いらせたり。
その日の気分も予定も、真っ白にしてしまう。
雪国で生まれ育つ人は、いつからか、
やり場のない不満を口にせず、黙々と作業を続けることを選んだ。
何も言わないんじゃない、少なからず何かを想っている。
どうしようもない天候に、怒りを思う時だってある。
年配の方が屋根に上がる光景だって、ちっとも微笑ましくなんかない。
それでも、変わらず、彼らは行動で示すから、
見上げる僕たちは、この遣り方で、この土地に生きるのだ。
Ice under the eaves
The way of a snowy country.
