大連市を挙げて行った今回の商談会は、例年にも増して大々的なセレモニーを催し、メディアに載せて、さらに順風満帆な船出を演出しているように思えた。事実、出店企業の数は昨年を優に超えているのだ。

前日から準備と設営をしてきた手延饂飩さんたちは、昨年からの異国の地での苦い経験を生かし、通電や備品、通訳の方の確保と、順調に作業を進めていた。

袋入りの醤油を目にする。国によりパッケージは異なるもの。それは経費の観点からか、保存性からか、環境の問題からか。いずれにも正当な理由があり、それに特化しものは興味深い。袋入りのパッケージは破損が恐そうなのだが。

日本にある外資系スーパーと変わらない景色。それよりもひとまわり大きいつくりか。日本で数少ない、大規模大量陳列はインパクトがある。また、売り場内スペースを貸し出し、賃料を発生させるビジネスモデルを展開している。

The scene which is not different from the foreign-affiliated company supermarket in Japan. It is somewhat larger structure than it here. A few large-scale mass display in Japan has impact. Moreover, the space in a counter is lent out and the business model which generates a rental rate is developed.

昼食は五つ星ホテルのランチを経験してみた。こちらも撮影は禁止。このエリアはハイブランドと高級ホテルが立ち並ぶ地域。十分な広さの歩道と街路樹を経て、さらに店舗前に設けたこの充分すぎるスペースが、高級感とその余裕を醸し出している。

西の街を後にし、その後は商談会で興味を持っていただいた中国人経営者の方の営む超高級日本料理屋で会食をする。ここでは一度の食事が平均月給に匹敵する店である。もちろん食材と味はこの調査団全員のお墨付きである。今思うとその方との会話が今回の一番の収穫とも思えた。企業理念や客層の考え方、時代の生き方や今後の在り方。多くのビジネスマンが目次のように並べ立てて話す内容ではあったが、その全ての価値観でハッとさせられるものがあった。取り巻く環境と人間のベースが海外の方とは異なるのだ。中でも一番印象に残っている言葉がある。

「日本の伝統的な食文化は素晴らしいものを持っている。なぜ中国１０億の人が欲しがっているものを、どんどん提供しようと思わないのか。」

今の中国の勢いそのものを体現したような言葉であった。伝統として護ってきたものと、市場開拓としての開放と露出。僕はそれに対する持論を展開したのだが、正直それが彼や中国市場にとってどういうものであったかは分からない。成長する市場と国家、一方で成熟してしまったそれら。その環境下での豊かさの追求はあるはずだ。しかし成長を常とする企業、社会構造の中で、未来を生きようとする人たちが見ていかなければいけないものは何なのか。答えは分からずとも、本質はそこにあるような気がした。

What has been protected as a tradition, and opening and exposure as market cultivation.Although I explained the opinion on it, there is no telling what kind of thing it was for him or the Chinese market. Them which have ripened in the market, the state, and one side which grow. There must be pursuit of the abundance under the environment. However, what is what people who are going to live have to regard the future as in the company and social structure which make growth a usual state? Even if the answer was not found, I felt that it was there for essence.

大連の朝は早い。多くの店が午前９時ごろから開けているようだ。僕たちは早くから行動を開始した。

It is early in the morning of Dalian. It seems that many stores have opened since around 9:00 a.m. I started action from early.

多くの庶民に利用される天津街食品商場は多くの食材が並び、その場で食べられる総菜も多かった。朝食も外で食べる機会が多いからだ。

Tianjin Town Ghangchang used for many people also had many daily dishes which many foods are located in a line and eaten on that spot. It is because there are many opportunities to also eat breakfast outside.

やはり、お茶は数種類の扱いがあった。お茶を飲む習慣は根強く定着しているが、最近の若年層はコーヒーを好んで飲むようになったという。

After all, tea had treatment of several kinds. Although the custom of drinking tea is established firmly, the latest younger age group says that coffee is liked and he came to drink it.

大連中心部に位置する中山広場では、車が途絶えなかった。歴史的な趣ある建物が周囲を取り囲む、大連の象徴的な広場である。

路の両端に食品やら衣類やらの市場が立ち並ぶ。夏場は夜遅くまで賑わうのだという。様々な年齢層が利用していた。

一本路地を入ると古い建物や建設中のものが混在している。街並もまだまだ途中の段階であり、これからどのように形成されていくのだろうか。

ファストフードも至る所に出店していた。意外なことに利用客は、年齢層関係なく分布しているそうだ。

日系百貨店、久光百貨に到着。ほとんど日本と変わらない雰囲気ではあるが、中国にしてはこじんまりとしている印象。こちらもマイカルも、やはり地下の高級スーパーは撮影禁止であった。

老若男女の庶民で賑わうニューマートは非常に興味深い店舗であった。諸外国の影響と云うよりも、中国らしい店のつくりと空気感。気取らない活気が魅力的だ。

The New Mart crowded with people of young and old of both sexes was a very interesting store. It is not subject to the influence of foreign countries, and is the structure and a feeling of air of a store in character with China. Unaffected vigor is attractive.

食品売場も広く、朝に見た天津街食品商場よりも品揃えが多く、価格もこなれている。小綺麗で、わくわくするような商品陳列。

膨大な数の液体調味料が並ぶ。このラインナップを現地の人は使い分けているのかと訊ねると、使い分けてはいないとのこと。消費者の数が膨大だからか、日本では考えられない商品数。

昼食を取ろうと最上階のレストランフロアへ。ここが面白いのは、各フロアの店員も一般客に混じり、食事、休憩をしているところ。客が引くことはなく、終止混雑していた。

一人につき６品程度オーダーした。味はどれも悪くなく、意外なのは野菜が多いこと。また、中華料理は大勢でたくさんの料理を囲むイメージがあるのだが、若年層は体系や健康を気にして２品ほどしか食べていなかった。

About six per one person were ordered. It is that each taste is delicious and unexpected one has many vegetables. Moreover, although many Chinese food had an image which comes out and surrounds much dish, the younger age group cared about a system and health, and was eating only about two articles.

大連商場も地元庶民に人気のある店。こちらもテイクアウトの総菜が数多く並んでいた。このような昼食の取り方が主流になっているという。

The store where Dalian Shangchang is also popular among local people. Many daily dishes of the takeout here were located in a line. It is said that how to eat such lunch is in use.

日本の百貨店、デパ地下のような高級店舗がトレンドリーダーであり、そこが僕たちのメインターゲットである。しかし、中国的な魅せ方の店舗に元来の力が漲るように感じられた。ベースを支えている庶民の大きな大きな力が、その国の本当の力だと思うからだ。

一方で思い知らされたことは、世代間でのギャップが激しさを増しているということ。それは食生活にこそ顕著に現れているように思う。主食の米の消費量が落ちた日本人の辿った道を、中国はどのように歩んでゆくのだろう。

A high-class store like the department store in Japan is a trend leader, and that is my main target. However, it was thought that original power overflowed with the store of the China atmosphere. It is because the big, big power of the people supporting a base thinks that it is the true power of the country.
On the other hand, it was surprised that the gap between generations is increasing violence. I regard it as having appeared just on eating habits notably. How does China follow and it will die the way which the Japanese to whom the amount of consumption of the rice of the staple food fell followed.

どの街も、手ぶらで歩きたかった。

どこで生活するにも、ちいさなバッグひとつあればよかった。

気持ちはいつでも、身軽でいたかった。

仕事で遠出する機会が増えた。

あれも、これも、必要になった。

似合わない、おおきなバッグが必要になった。

それでも、バッグひとつで出掛けていく。

どこでも、どこへでも。

知らない言葉の飛び交う街へ。

自分の望んだ街へ。
