筍が収穫された。

例年、春の味覚として気になってしまう。

焼き筍*や筍御飯*と、ここでも留まることなく、つらつらと。

その理由は、竹かんむりに旬と書いて「筍」と書くよう、

“竹の子”としていられる食用期間が短いせいもあるだろう。

長い冬を待ち、ようやく収穫した春の食材は、

ふきのとうや山菜同様、旬は短く、下処理まである。

肝心な味には、独特な癖までついてくる。

なんて皮肉な食材！

だから気になってしまうのかな、春。

They are very ironical foods!

出先から戻ると、桜が満開だと告げられた。

雪国には似合わない、連日の陽気によるものだ。

ついこの間まで、雪で覆われていた公園は、

いまや満開の桜で賑わいを見せている。

昨年のいま頃は、色味のない桜を見ていた*。

ようやく大地に、やわらかな緑色が増えてきました。名も知らぬ、小さな花まで咲くこのごろは、芽吹きの慶びを感じずにはいられません。ヤマモの休みは暦通りですが、例年より少し長めの休暇になりそうです。
