“絵どうろうの街*”として活動をはじめ、駅通り商店街の空き店舗の３分の１に当たる、６店舗の開店が決まりました。それらを受け、各店舗に絵どうろうが灯り、シャッター街から脱却していくことをセレモニーとして祝うことになりました。「願いの灯り 点灯式 2011」は今週末の土曜日にFMゆーとぴあ前を歩行者天国、メイン会場にして行われます。また、オリジナルのFM番組とUSTREAMを同時に配信し、また、魁新聞社の取材も受けるというメディアミックスも行います。街興しと七夕に願いを込め、街のみなさんで楽しみながら、祝うことができれば幸いです。

Information of holding Lighting ceremony 2011 of the light of the wish.

Six stores newly cooperated in us. This number is about 1/3 of the close stores in the shopping street. It will be celebrated to distribute the picture lantern to each store, and to get rid of the shutter street as a ceremony. “Lighting ceremony 2011 of the light of the wish.” makes the FM yu-topia front the pedestrian precinct and a main venue of the event on Saturday in the end of this week and is done. Moreover, the media mix of delivering an original FM program and USTREAM at the same time, and receiving the coverage of the Sakigake newspaper is done. It would be greatly appreciated if the wish could be put in development and the Star Festival of the town, and it celebrate while enjoying it by everybody in the town.

当日は様々な企画が目白多しです。お客様参加型のイヴェントで、来年以降も継続できるものにしたいと思い、考えたものです。たくさんの方にいらしていただきたいと思います。

商店街に属する飯塚*とは、資料をつくり、各物件を廻ったり、大家さんに挨拶をしたり、状況の把握と寸法を測ったりと、地元の情報を細かく吸い上げることからはじめました。彼の地道な努力とプロジェクトに掛ける想いは、相当のものがあります。

Iizuka lives in the shopping street. He and I made material, greeted surroundings and the landlord of each article, and measured with the grasp of the situation. It started from the detailed collection of information on local. The desire multiplied by his low-key efforts and project is strong.

自分のつくったポスターが街に貼られ、告知の効果を発揮していくのは、何だか不思議なものでした。これまでに何度かイヴェントには携わっているのですが、これだけの社会貢献と応援を受けたものは、かつてないからです。

The poster that I made was pasted to the town, and it was mysterious somehow to demonstrate the effect of the notification. I am involved in the event several times so far. However, there was no one that the contribution to society and the assistance only of this were received.

飯塚、孝一郎*と男三人で花火５本と織姫と彦星にちなんで無料ペア宿泊チケットの抽選券を兼ねた七夕の短冊をつくりました。当日に３００円で販売します（浴衣の方は１００円）。３００セットを手作業でつくるのは地道で時間のかかるものでしたが、僕たちの希望を乗せたものでもあります。また、ここで利益の構造をつくらなければ、助成金のない来年度以降は厳しい運営にならざるを得ません。そういう意味でも、この商品は僕たちの夢が詰まっているのです。

Iizuka, Koichiro, and I made the strip of paper of the Star Festival that combined the lot ticket of five fireworks and the free pair staying tickets. It sells it for 300 yen on that day (The person who wears the yukata sells it for 100 yen). It is the one that our hope was put though it was an honest, time-consuming one that makes 300 sets from the hand work. Moreover, if the structure of the profit is not made here, it cannot help becoming severe management since the coming year without the subsidy. As for such a meaning, our dream is blocked in this commodity.

絵どうろうの制作風景も取材にいきました。若い方々の熱意溢れる現場。そのクオリティは年々上がってきていると聞きました。このプロジェクトに深く関わっている自分が、制作する人たちの現状を知らずに居たことを恥じました。湯沢にはこうした文化に根差した郷土愛が息づいているのです。

The production scenery of the picture lantern was effective in coverage, too. Sites of young people where zeal overflows. The quality was heard going up every year. It was ashamed for me who was deeply related to this project not to know current states of the people who produced and to have existed. There is a love of one’s home province that takes root in such a culture in Yuzawa.

そのような想いを込めて絵どうろうを見ると、全く異なったことが見えてきます。やはり、この街の持つ魅力は、元々あるものに磨きをかけることからはじめるべきだと思いました。美人画の流派や絵どうろうの保存方法、それはもはやアートの領域であり、そこに多くの可能性があると僕は思います。

Having quite differed comes into view when such a desire is put and the picture lantern is seen. Still, I thought that I had to start the charm of this town from polishing the one that was originally. I think that the preservation method and that of the sect and the picture lantern of the beautiful woman picture are already the areas of the art, and have dozen possibilities there.

メディアミックスと自己配信が今回の企画のキーワードです。多くの場面を中継、配信し、少しでも多くの方に見ていただくこと。そして僕たちは包み隠さず、素直にこのイヴェントを明らかにして活動していきたいと思います。また、そうすることにより今後の街のイヴェントや企画に対して、影響を与えていきたいと思いました。

The media mix and the self-delivery are key words of this project. A lot of scenes must be relaid, be delivered, and many people have seeing even a little. And, we want not to conceal, to clarify this event obediently, and to act. I wanted to influence the event and the project of the town of the future again by doing so.

配信をする度に、その効果やレスポンスがあり、自分たちも楽しみながら活動することができています。また過去の放送をアーカイヴ*することの重要性も知りました。制作者と視聴者の双方向でものができあがる時代に、まさに直面していると感じています。

There are the effect and a response every time it delivers it, and we can also act while enjoying it. Moreover, it knew the importance of the accumulation of broadcasting past. It is felt that those who produce and the viewer have exactly faced in the age when it is interactive and completes the one.

FM局のパーソナリティ、高橋あきよさん*も今回のイヴェントでは重要な役割を担う方です。オリジナル番組の放送はもちろん、企画や仕掛け、人材の手配まで大変お世話になっております。そして、これからのブロードバンドの可能性について前向きに取り組んでいる方でもあります。僕たちはこれからも応援していきたいと思っています。あきよさん、これからもよろしくお願いします。

Akiyo Takahashi of the personality of FM station also bears the key role in this event. I am very indebted to arrangements of the project, beginning to say nothing of broadcasting an original program, and talent. And, it works positively about the possibility of broadband in the future. 週三回のラジオ出演もさせていただいています。また、それをUSTREAMでも同時配信しています。月曜日の放送では点灯式当日の司会をされる佐藤みなみさん*とお手伝いをしてくださる鈴木麻由さん*も出演して下さいました。みんなで楽しく、イヴェントをつくりあげていましょう！

僕たちの世代よりも若い方達が街の活動の矢面に立つこと。それは最も重要であり、彼女、彼らに意識を持ってもらい、それを紡いでいくことがどれだけ難しいことか。僕は今回一緒に働きながら、それを肌で実感しています。でも彼女たちは僕の想像以上に柔軟で可能性を秘めています。この街の持つ魅力をまたひとつ、見つけることができました。

当日はかつての空き店舗にオリジナルのショップ*がオープンします。点灯式当日はノンアルコール・バーとして、七夕まつりでは通常の酒類の扱いのあるBARとして機能させたいと思います。これは友人の美容師と個人的に活動してきたものを湯沢に持ち込んだものです。近江くん*、いつも快い協力ありがとう！

An original shop opens in an empty store before on that day. I want to function as BAR in the Star Festival with the treatment of usual liquors as a non-alcohol bar on that day of the lighting ceremony. This is bringing of the one having personally acted with friend’s beautician to Yuzawa in. Mr. Oumi cooperates always pleasantly.

店舗を開けるだけではなく、実際にそこで営業をすること。僕はそこにこだわりました。シャッター街からの脱却という強いテーマは利益を生むところまでいって、はじめて成功であると。そいった意識をお客様に理解していただいて街の活動をしていくこと。メディアミックスによる効果はそこに一番発揮されるべきです。コンセプトを持った活動と、理解ある消費者との双方向の理解による利益の仕組み。僕はそれに真剣に取り組むべきだと考えています。点灯式はこの街でのはじめての試みではありますが、七夕まつりに一足早く、ぜひ楽しいものにして、地元の皆さんでつくりあげていきたいと思います。みなさんのご参加、ご協力、よろしくお願い致します。

昨年の夏のイヴェント、ゴヨウキキ茂助・カフェ*での縁があり、白井原太さんと連絡を取るようになった。いまは僕が東京を訪れ、都合が付けば伺わせていただいている。家業を継ぐ前に設計士になりたかった自分からすれば、学生の時分には考えも及ばないことが現実に起きている。

原太さんとお話をすると、考え方が似ているところがある、と感じる。特に古いものや新しいものとの付き合い方がそうである。原太さんご自身の生み出すものと、祖父である白井晟一氏の生み出したものとの付き合い方、僕のつくるものと代々あるものとの付き合い方。折り合いをつけることはとても大切で大変で、そこには右往左往して行き着くこともある。だからこそ、そのときに身に付くものがあると思う。

原太さんが進めている設計は、元々あった材料に限りなく近い材料を調達することで既存のものと調和させていると伺った。例えば、かつての建築物の土壁を少量持ち帰り、千葉や栃木など複数の土地の種々の土や砂を配合して再現性を高める、そういったところまでやるという。床や壁などの木材の質感に於いても、同様のことを行っている。一方で、ただ古ければいいというものではない。古いものの中でも、いいものとそうでないものを振るいにかけ、取捨選択し、いいところに磨きをかける。また、そうすることで本来のよさが引き立ち、周囲にもその影響が及んでいく。原太さんは建築の年代で言うところの1950年代から60年代が、祖父・白井晟一の作品も含め、個人的には好みであると仰った。

そして僕の地元湯沢には、白井晟一氏にはじまり、関係者にも著名な方々がいらっしゃったことを教えていただいた。付き合いを深め、仕事をともにすることで、僕たちの世代の繋がりも同じような道を辿ることが出来れば、これほど爽快で素敵なことはないだろう。勝手にわくわくした僕は、今回の訪問で自分の夢もアトリエの中に置いてきた。

There were an event of the summer of last year and an edge in Goyoukiki Mosuke Caffe*, and I came to contact Genta Sirai. I will visit if I visit Tokyo, and convenience adheres now. I wanted to become a designer before it took over one’s family’s business. Not having thought has actually occurred in my school days.
I think that an idea each other looks like when talking with Genta. Especially, the way of the old one and the new one to associate is so. How of what Genta invents and thing that Seiichi Sirai who was grandfather invented to associate. How of what I make and the one that is from generation to generation to associate. I think that they look like. It is very important and serious to apply the agreement. It is likely to go this way and that there and to arrive. We have something acquired at that time.
The design that Genta advances is harmonized with the existing one by procuring a material that is unlimited and near the material that is originally. For instance, a small amount of clay wall of the building before is taken home, various soils and the sand of two or more land such as Chiba and Tochigi are mixed, and reproducibility is improved. He sticks to there. In the feeling of quality of the woods such as floors and walls, similar is done.　It is one side and not the one that it only has to be old. The good one and the one not so are especially put on spirited, it chooses, and goodness is polished though it is old. Moreover, original goodness looks better by doing so, and the influence extends it to surroundings. The work of Seiichi Sirai was included, and Genta was said that the 1950’s and the 1960’s were personally favors.
And, it knew not only Seiichi Sirai but also parties concerned had had famous people in my local Yuzawa. It is can become as much as them by deepening association, and working both also by our generation, and might a thing that is refreshing and is wonderful. And, my dream has been put in the atelier.

シンプルさやさりげなさ。言葉にすると簡単で、やろうとするとできないこと。玄関をつくりあげるものも、ここはすべてそのようにできている。

僕はこの場所がつくる雰囲気を形容することが出来ない。それは僕のカテゴリーにない空間だからだ。そうなると、単純にスタンドのシェードの可愛らしさと後ろの厚みのある本たちとの対比が面白い。

I cannot verbalize the atmosphere that this place makes. It is because it is a space that doesn’t exist in my category. Then, the comparison with this passing with the thickness in the loveliness of the shade of the stand and the back simply is interesting.

絶妙なトランクのスケールやカラーリング、重厚な金具のヴォリュームとステッカーの位置や求心力衰えないフォント。この組み合わせの妙というのは、いったい何なのだろう。

「是非こちらをご覧下さい。こちらが家の守り神です。」そう言われて撮った仏像は天井からぶら下げられていた。皆さん、神仏をぶら下げる発想、ありますか？

絵画、額縁、ランプ、時計、キリム…まるでどこかの博物館のような取り揃え。雰囲気をつくる足し算引き算は大切だと思うが、ここにはなくていいのだろう。

綺麗な建築写真に一部レンガの壁。写真の中のシンプルで潔い建築にも心を奪われるが、単純にここのレンガの壁にも憧れてしまう。そもそも白井セレクトに直に立ち会っていることが、現在進行形で不思議。

アトリエ中央の丸い柱と床の風合いが素晴らしい。湯沢酒造会館の壁面もそうだった。フォルムもそうだが、素材の選び方は経年経過を見越しての選択だ。

The feeling of quality of a round pillar and the floor at the center of the atelier is wonderful. The wall in the Yuzawa brewing hall was also so. How to choose the material is a selection that foresees the passage of passing year though the form is also so.

打ち合わせのテーブルから外の庭を臨む。本来はこの打ち合わせのスペースも庭であり、改築の末の現在の姿であるという。

白井晟一氏が直接つくった模型。有機的に少し曲がったスロープが彼らしい。窓の位置やスケール感なども、やはり分かり易く面白い。生で拝見させていただいていることに今更に驚く。

原太さんのお母様は帽子のデザイナーだそうだ。確かヨーロッパでの表彰の写真も展示してあった。スタイリッシュで洒落た帽子が部屋に点在していることに納得する。

外の庭にはたくさんの植物が並ぶ。昨今のガーデニング、作庭もまた、そもそもの建築・人の生活の一部である。

A lot of plants line up in the garden of the outside. To begin with, gardening and the work garden are construction. And, they are parts of life.

庭から打ち合わせのテーブルを覗く。気温が優に30度を超す夏日でも涼しげな空間。発想力の源を生むには、環境が大事だと知らされる。

It peeps at the table of meeting from the garden. A cool space in the summer day to which the temperature passed fully 30 degrees there. It is told that the environment is important so that it may give birth to the source of the conception power.

この建物は画家のアトリエ「Atelier No.5」として白井晟一氏が設計したもの。そこに原太さんは生まれ育っている。北から射し込むやわらかな光が印象的で、そのような窓の配置に仕上げている。「この建物の良さを外部に伝えることで、多くの方にその素晴らしさと意義を伝えていきたい。」この場所に住み、生活を続ける原太さんの言葉だからこそ、説得力があった。

白井晟一氏のセレクトしたものに囲まれる空間を満喫しながら、おもむろに質問をしてみた。原太さんが何かを収集したり、新しいことに取り組んでいることはありますか？、と。彼は少し照れながら頭を掻いた。そして、それをしていないのが悩みでもあります、と答えた。これは足し算も引き算もない、ある種、完成された空間で生活してきた人の究極の回答であり、だからこそ、それを体現される方の発言だと理解した。

This building is what Seiichi Sirai designed as painter’s atelier “Atelier No.5”. Genta has been born and grow up there. Soft light that shines in from the north is impressive, and it finishes it up in the arrangement of such a window. “I wanted to tell many people the wonderful and meaning by telling goodness in this building outside” It was persuasive because of the word of man who kept living in this place, and living.

I questioned while enjoying the space enclosed by what Seiichi Sirai had selected. “Do you work on the collection of something, and new?” he scratched his head while being possible a little to shine. It was answered, “It is worry not to do it”. This is an ultimate answer of the person who has lived by the completed space without addition and the subtraction either. I understood that it was a remark of the person who embodied it.
