出先から戻ると、桜が満開だと告げられた。

雪国には似合わない、連日の陽気によるものだ。

ついこの間まで、雪で覆われていた公園は、

いまや満開の桜で賑わいを見せている。

昨年のいま頃は、色味のない桜を見ていた*。

はやくはやく、別の空気を纏いたかった。

人は象徴するものに吸い寄せられ、

取り巻く空気も、心も移り変わってゆく。

また春に、桜に期待を寄せて。

四月の陽気になり、小さくても春を見つけたいと思った。
もうコートは羽織らずに、春色のカーディガンで公園へと向かう。

自分を「新しい蕾」として護ろうとする人がいる。

その奥ゆかしい連鎖が、土地を紡いでいく。

今年も雪の深い秋田県、湯沢。

冬の天候は時に、人の行動や感情を左右する。

その、どこか不自由だと思う環境が、

雪国の人を、ものづくりに向かわせることがある。

舞い落ちる雪で澄んだ空気も、

皆瀬川からの地下水の温度も、

あるものを利用して、あるものに感謝して。

雪深い真冬でも、穏やかに流れるこの川のよう、

それは、だんだんと、だんだんと、つくられてゆく。
