国内外のお客様を蔵元に迎え入れる取り組みを進めるうちに、はじめの印象として建物の外観にシンボルとなるものの必要性を感じておりました。それはできることなら、その場所である精神性や特性を背景にしたものが望まれます。そうこう考えているうちに、古い建物の屋根に「鳥衾（とりぶすま）」という装飾が付いていることを思い出しました。

Our company Yamamo has repeatedly expanded and renovated for 150 years and has reached to the present. We have continued innovative efforts, but I have been thinking of expressing that spirituality to the appearance. While following the ones that continue from the past, I am hoping to disseminate the way to the next generation strongly. First of all, I would like to express a sense of unity and a profound feeling by painting black, and to express a heterogeneous presence in the area._GARDENOPENING

我們公司Yamamo已經多次擴建和翻新了150多年，到了現在。 我們不斷創新，但一直在思考，表達出靈性。 在跟隨過去的情況下，我希望能夠強力傳播下一代的方式。 首先，我要表達黑色的團結感和深刻的感覺，並表達在這個地區的異質存在。



詳しい方に聞くと、鳥衾には建築的な機能はなく、デザインも前面のせり出し方や上部への反り具合なども、施主の好みが取り付けの動機となっているようです。ただし、屋根の最上部を木材とトタンで覆うことは、現代建築の通気の観点から新しい家には取り付けができず、古い家ならではの装飾となります。ここに面白みを感じ、専門家と話をしながら取り組みを進めることにしました。ここでも材料は、弊社のかつての改築で取り置いていた古材を新たに挽いて使用しました。

弊社ヤマモは川の麓の曲がり角に位置する為、川を背にすると建物の東側面を長く見ることになります。一方、川に向かう方向に弊社を臨むと、外観を正面から長く目にすることになります。以上から弊社の位置は遠目から東と正面を眺めながら目的に向かう立地となります。東側面は長く張り出した鳥衾が目を引き、正面からも若干せり上がった具合が屋根と空の境界を面白くします。結果、弊社の鳥衾は秋田県南地域ではシンプルで比較的長いものとなりました。これからヤマモの外観の象徴となり、存在感を示していくことを願います。
