賑わう夜市の屋台には、食事のメインとなる料理だけでなくフルーツやデザートの類も豊富にあった。写真手前の果実は、梨と桃の合い掛けのようなもので、同行した友人が気に入っていた。
There were also many kinds of fruit or dessert of stalls. The fruits of photograph this side have the feature of a pear and a peach, and my friend was pleased with them.
夜市で食事をするためには、半ば強引に席を取り、調理している方に直接声を掛けるという過程を経なければならない。東南アジアに多い、“いわゆる屋台方式”だ。
In order to have a meal by a night market, you have to pass through the process in which take a seat forcibly halfway and it speaks to the direction currently cooked directly. They are what is called many stall systems to Southeast Asia.
慣れた手つきで調理が行われていく。どの屋台も手袋をして調理をしているあたり、衛生に対する気遣いが伺える。日本でも稀なそれは、日常的に成熟した文化と云えよう。
Cooking is performed with the familiar hand. It is cooking by every stall carrying out a glove. The consideration to health is known. Probably, a stall is the culture which ripened daily.
こちらは、もちもちしたお好み焼きのようで、上にかかる褐色のたれはオーロラソースのように甘酸っぱかった。地元の台湾屋台の味に触れることができた。
This dish seemed to be elastic soft okonomiyaki. The brown sauce applied upwards was sweet-sour like Aurora sauce. I got to know the delicacy of the Taiwan stall.
台湾の方は気さくで、写真にも快く応じてくれる。外国人も気ままに利用できる夜市。その賑わいの根底には、おおらかな国民性があるのだろう。
The person of Taiwan is frank and also embraces a photograph pleasantly. And the appearance is better than anything. The night market which a foreigner can also use willfully. Probably, there are generous national traits at the basis of the prosperity.
食の屋台が終わると、衣と住の屋台が見えてくる。そこでは老若男女が思い思いの買い物をしている。生活に根差した衣食住の揃う市場、それが夜市の最大の魅力だろう。
After the stall of food finishes, clothes and Sumi’s stall appear. Young and old of both sexes are doing their different shopping there. The market which has complete set of food, clothing and shelter which originated in the life. It will be the maximum charm of a night market.
最終日の夜は後先考えず街へ繰り出すことにした。目的地は既に決まっている。落ち着いた店舗が連ねると評判の永康街と、まさに開発の進む信義区だ。まま、タクシーを走らせる。
It decided for the back point not to think but to let out to a town on the night of the final day. The destination was already decided. They are the Yongkang Street that there are many calm stores, and Xinyi District where development progresses. We took the taxi.
忠孝復興駅周辺が丸の内ならば、永康街は下北沢のように思った。こだわりと、独特の価値観により形成される地域。そこには個性的な店舗と人種が集う。
I thought that Yongkang Street resembled Shimokitazawa supposing the circumference of Zhongxiao Fuxing Station resembles Marunouchi. The area formed of a prejudice and a peculiar sense of values. There are an individual store and person.
一方の信義区は六本木のよう。アルコールを提供する店はブランドビルの屋上に店を構え、そこでは時代と夜を楽しむ人々が湧いている。内装外装の演出も、際立って華やかだった。
On the other hand, Xinyi District resembles Roppongi. The store which offers alcohol establishes a store in the roof of Brando’s building, and people who enjoy night and a time appear there. The production of the interior exterior was also beautiful.
突然、悪ふざけで屋上のプールに飛び込む者がいた。かつての日本の浮かれた空気を感じたが、同時に羨ましくも思った。バブルを経験した僕たちは、シニカルに成らざるを得ない。
Suddenly, there were those who jump into the pool of the roof. It seemed to be a bubble era of once Japan. This is a scene of a temporary dream and I think of them to irony.
屋上のダイニングバーは、数ヶ月前にできたものだった。窓際や外席から見える、目の高さのTAIPEI101、下のクラブとの連携など、流行の仕掛けは見た目以上に多かった。
The dining bar of the roof was made several months ago. From the place by the window or the outside seat, TAIPEI101 was visible at hand. This store was delighting the visitor, such as cooperating with a lower club.
間もなく時刻は０時。外はクラブに入ろうとする、耳の早い客の列。かつて上京したての自分が見た都心の景色を、今更に見ているようだった。
Time will be soon at 0:00. There was a sequence of the visitor of a fashion lover who tries to go into a club outside. I thought that the scene of the old center of Tokyo was resembled here.
信義区の“勢い”の反動で、落ち着いた忠孝復興駅周辺へと移動した。そこでは深夜営業に切り替わったワインバーがあった。時刻でフロアーが変わると一転してアンダーグラウンドに展開する。実はここの雰囲気が、琴線に最も触れたのであった。
Since we studied “the vigor of development” of Xinyi District, we moved to the Zhongxiao Fuxing Station circumference. There was a wine bar which changed to late-night operation there. It will become an underground atmosphere if a floor changes at time. In fact, I am most pleased with the atmosphere here.
国土が九州ほどの面積の台湾。ここは比較的短い移動距離で色濃い文化を堪能できる国である。夜市の屋台で食事をする人が、ハイブランドの店に入り、思い思いの社交場を楽しんでいる。一日中、首都台北に貼り付いてみても、それは容易に分かるだろう。また、過度な貧困を意識せずに旅を満喫できるという点では、アジアでは稀な国であろう。そして、新興国の文化の縮図をコンパクトかつ安全に見ることができるのも、数少ない場所であると思う。ビジネス面では、流通の要であることが増々顕著に表れてきている。大陸を意識して有力企業が訪ねる場所は、オリエンタルな風が吹き、ハイブリッドな人を形成している。
今回の渡航では、あいにくの雨空でも、いつまでも背中で輝き続けたTAIPEI101ビルが強く印象に残った。一方、帰国後、耳にするのは東京スカイツリーの話題。活気付く場所でも、低迷する場所でも、必要なものは同じ。善くも悪くも移ろう人の心には、求心力ある象徴が必要なのだ。現在、世界第二位の高さの塔は、台北の冬空を彩り、成長する国の道しるべになっていると思った。
The country of Taiwan is the area like Kyushu. This country can know much culture by short migration length. Those who have a meal at the stall of a night market go into the store of a luxury brand, and are enjoying their different social place. If it is in Taipei of a capital all day long, you will understand it easily. Moreover, you can enjoy a trip fully, without being conscious of excessive poverty. And you can see the culture of a newly emerging country compactly and safely. In the business side, it has become the center of attention that this is an important point of circulation. Taiwan is a place which considers the Chinese market and at which a price leader calls. Culture is mixed and a hybrid person is produced here.
In this trip, TAIPEI101 building was impressive. On the other hand, I looked at the report of Tokyo Sky Tree after the homecoming. A thing required also at a revitalized place or the place which hangs low is the same. An unstable person’s heart requires a symbol. I thought that this tower of the second height in the world was a symbol of the country which grows in Taipei now.
