大連の朝は早い。多くの店が午前９時ごろから開けているようだ。僕たちは早くから行動を開始した。
It is early in the morning of Dalian. It seems that many stores have opened since around 9:00 a.m. I started action from early.
多くの庶民に利用される天津街食品商場は多くの食材が並び、その場で食べられる総菜も多かった。朝食も外で食べる機会が多いからだ。
Tianjin Town Ghangchang used for many people also had many daily dishes which many foods are located in a line and eaten on that spot. It is because there are many opportunities to also eat breakfast outside.
やはり、お茶は数種類の扱いがあった。お茶を飲む習慣は根強く定着しているが、最近の若年層はコーヒーを好んで飲むようになったという。

日系百貨店、久光百貨に到着。ほとんど日本と変わらない雰囲気ではあるが、中国にしてはこじんまりとしている印象。こちらもマイカルも、やはり地下の高級スーパーは撮影禁止であった。

老若男女の庶民で賑わうニューマートは非常に興味深い店舗であった。諸外国の影響と云うよりも、中国らしい店のつくりと空気感。気取らない活気が魅力的だ。

食品売場も広く、朝に見た天津街食品商場よりも品揃えが多く、価格もこなれている。小綺麗で、わくわくするような商品陳列。

昼食を取ろうと最上階のレストランフロアへ。ここが面白いのは、各フロアの店員も一般客に混じり、食事、休憩をしているところ。客が引くことはなく、終止混雑していた。

一人につき６品程度オーダーした。味はどれも悪くなく、意外なのは野菜が多いこと。また、中華料理は大勢でたくさんの料理を囲むイメージがあるのだが、若年層は体系や健康を気にして２品ほどしか食べていなかった。

大連商場も地元庶民に人気のある店。こちらもテイクアウトの総菜が数多く並んでいた。このような昼食の取り方が主流になっているという。

日本の百貨店、デパ地下のような高級店舗がトレンドリーダーであり、そこが僕たちのメインターゲットである。しかし、中国的な魅せ方の店舗に元来の力が漲るように感じられた。ベースを支えている庶民の大きな大きな力が、その国の本当の力だと思うからだ。
一方で思い知らされたことは、世代間でのギャップが激しさを増しているということ。それは食生活にこそ顕著に現れているように思う。主食の米の消費量が落ちた日本人の辿った道を、中国はどのように歩んでゆくのだろう。
