屋根からの雪景色。
強い寒気により、最高気温も零下という吹雪の毎日。
降り止まない雪はみるみるうちに積もり、
正月早々に雪下ろしをしなければいけなくなった。
雪下ろしは天気を選ぶため、どこかのうちが始めると
まるで釣られたかように、ご近所さんも精を出しはじめる。
いやぁ、まいっちゃうねぇ、と。
長丁場の肉体労働に溜め息をつきながらも、
膝を超す高さの長靴とスコップを持ち、いよいよ屋根に上がる。
そうして上がった屋根から見える雪景色には、
山登りでもしたような気分になる。
