ヤマモでは珍しく、女子高校生5人が訪ねてきた。あどけない表情の彼女たちは、湯沢商工の商業研究班だという。しばらく彼女たちの話を聞いていくうちに、いつの間にかその真っ直ぐな想いやヴァイタリティーに引き込まれていった。
彼女たちは環境に配慮した地熱事業に着目し、地元湯沢の活性化を促そうとしてる。湯沢市の地熱事業は全国的に見ても誇れるほどの実績を上げている。しかし皮肉なことに、それに知名度が伴っているわけではない。彼女たちは手探りで調査を繰り返し、行政や教育機関、一般企業の協力を取り付け、地熱事業を軸に湯沢の街をPRしていこうと考えている。この真っ直ぐな想いと鋭い着眼点から始まった活動は、瞬く間に県の壁を越え、東北六県生徒商業研究発表大会で優勝することとなる。11月には神奈川で全国大会が控えているそうだ。
彼女たちは今後の活動の一環として商品開発も行い、さらに地熱事業や街の関心を広めようとしている。ヤマモにもPR商品を担う一部分として協力をして欲しいとのことであった。彼女たちの活動に参加できることは本当に喜ばしいことであり、こういった若い力が地元から活躍の場を広げていくことは素晴らしいことだ。同じ街に住む仲間として、これまでのように彼女たちらしく、明るく楽しく進めてもらいたいと思う。

They finally win the championship in the commerce of the student of Tohoku 6 prefecture research announcement rally. I hear that the national athletic meeting is held in Kanagawa in November.
They will try to do the product development, and to make the concern of the terrestrial heat business and the town known more in the future. I hear that it also wanted our company to cooperate in the development of the commodity. Being possible to participate in their activities is really joyous. It is wonderful that young person’s power expands the place of activity from local. This activity wants you to develop happily as a companion who lives in the same town.

あたりが暗くなってからの訪問であった。みんな明るく、和気藹々とした雰囲気で話が進む。

味噌と醤油、それぞれ二種類を試食してもらった。彼女たちの頭の中には、出来上がりのイメージが膨らんでいることだろう。

それぞれの名刺と活動の記録をいただいた。名刺には顔写真があり、個人で色分けがなされていた。また、活動の記録も面白く分かり易いものであった。

彼女たちは“地域ブランディング”を掲げており、私も会社の活動やものづくりの背景をお客様にお伝えする者。第三者に魅力を伝えていくという遣り甲斐のある仕事。彼女たちと同じように、真っ直ぐに物事を見つめていきたいと思う。
They are hanging out “Regional branding”. I also am telling the customer the activity of the company and the background of the one-making. This is work with the giving effect of telling someone the charm. I want to watch things as straight as them.
